Please note: EKU Academic Testing cannot accept hand-carried test scores of *any* type.
Placement Testing may also be completed online via Examity, EKU's long-distance proctoring service. While the placement test is free, there is a $17.50 proctoring fee to use Examity. Online testing through Examity is available Monday-Saturday. Examity testers must have access to a home computer with a camera. Online Placement Test(s) must be completed at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled orientation date. The EKU Office of Academic Testing supports the academic mission of Eastern Kentucky University at Kentucky's School of Opporunity by providing testing options to prospective and current EKU students, as well as many individuals in our service region. Our office adheres to test administration practices as prescribed by National College Testing Associations Professional Standards and Guidelines and the EKU Office of Internal Audit. Academic Testing staff uphold the integrity of the assessment process by incorporating ethical standards and security measures in test administration and the processing and storage of test scores. Testing staff strive to serve examinees in a comfortable, secure test-taking environment.
The EKU Office of Academic Testing will be an office where prospective and current EKU students, as well as local community members, may come to begin, sharpen, and further their post-secondary educational careers through optional and mandatory assessments.
- coordinates, administers, and plans academic tests to serve the University community;
- provides services related to national tests, state assessments, and locally developed exams;
- maintains test records for all past, current, and incoming EKU students;
- offers Eastern Kentucky University students and other registered examinees a friendly and comfortable environment for testing;
- serves as one of only 7 Federal Aviation Administration Airman Knowledge Exam sites in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Accommodations – Examinees who require accommodations must work in conjunction with the EKU Center for Student Accessibility to secure the appropriate paperwork. The CSA may be contacted by calling 859-622-2933 or by visiting http://accessibility.eku.edu/. Students are responsible for obtaining permission for accommodation(s) at least 48 hours in advance of a scheduled testing session.
